Dale and I began making wood items about 28 years ago, we made rocking horses, folding tables, pie safes, and various other items for tole painters. We decided to give ourselves a name, so I made a sign with a rocking horse on it. Since we were being creative, I thought that should reflect the name of our adventure, Thomas-Creations was born…... Dale worked in a cabinet shop for a little while and has made several items around the house. We built all of the out building and the barn that houses his woodshop ourselves. In September of 2002, I began my spinning adventure and was soon making designer yarn. I was getting quite a collection of skeins when Dale asked, “What are you going to do with all of this yarn your making”? I told him something would come along. . The first Tri-looms he made were the 3 piece, one size style, I quickly ran out of room for the various sizes. “You need to come up with a modular style,” I told him, “one that can be reduced in size and expanded to different lengths.” The Modular Tri-Loom was his solution to my dilemma. As I became more interested in other aspects of spinning and weaving he followed my progression by making other tools “toys” for me. A few friends became interested in my new “toys” as well, word got around and well here we are…….. :0) |
